I have small cell lung cancer and my insurance BCBS denied a PET scan to see if the treatments are working.?

What recourse do I have to make them approve the test?

Insurance companies do not often deny PETs for patients diagnosed with cancer. Most likely someone in your oncologists office is appealing. You can help by speaking to HR if then insurance is through your employer.

I have BCBS and never had an issue with approval for a PET/CT scan.

I have no idea on the scan protocol for small cell lung cancer.
