I may have breast cancer. Can I upgrade my health insurance now?

I just had a mammogram and sonogram yesterday and I need to get a biopsy next week because I may have cancer. Can I go ahead and upgrade my health insurance now? Can they turn me down? It is one of the big companies. Thanks!

    They can look back, call it a pre-existing condition and refuse to pay.

    It depends on how you are obtaining your health insurance. If it is through your employer then usually not because you have to wait until the next open enrollment. If it is your own personal insurance you may be able to make a slight upgrade without too much of an issue as long as they process the paperwork and receive payment before you have your biopsy. But if they discover you do have cancer before you get it approved and receive your card you will be denied. Hope the biopsy is negative and all turns out well. Good lcuk

    I am not sure, but you "may" have breast cancer. I really hope you dont :( cancer is a horriable thing! I dont think anyone deserves it.
