In most states, Medicaid would cover that.
And, it is not 40 million Americans, it is about 15 million… and they are not without health care, they are without insurance.

Well before Bush and Obama started taxing the Hell out of everybody and sinking the economy people were donating to St. Judes and Shriners hospitals.

I’d be a pretty crappy dad for not making sure my kid was taken care of.

That said, most children are covered by some sort of state program regardless of their parents’ neglect.

Isn’t this why you folks pushed for teh SCHIP stuff?

And the post above me had it: St. Jude and Shriners Hospitals.

Take them to Shriner’s hospital, but I work for a living so I handle my responsibilities.

First of all, everyone has healthcare, people connot be denied care do to ability to pay

Use programs that are currently in place, and know that my child is getting far better care, since under Obamacare that child with cancer would be considered an "unproductive" member of society, and put on the back burner for "the good of all."

Patients’ Choice Act – the only plan that is a measure of true reform, would empower the uninsured to purchase the plan of their choice, by redirecting subsidies, while protecting current plans & quality care.

You empower the uninsured, not enslave everyone.

Have you ever heard of St. Jude’s?

Or the Shriner’s?

Hospitals must give care to anyone in need; it’s the law.

Many hospitals have payment plans and many often waive fees, especially for children with cancer.

If you want to play the sympathy card, this is the wrong country.

NOW, I suggest you check out government run institutes. The VA, and hospitals located on Indian Reservations for instance. It will make you cry.

Amazingly enough, there are charitable organizations you can reach out to. For now…

When it’s mandated, no one will be able to afford the donations to keep it going. So what will happen when you find out you or your child have cancer and the treatment will not be approved? Just saying….

Moving to a country where there is social medicine is always an option. It works in Canada, Italy, England and France! Explain that to your mass population and they’ll tell that it’s a lie. Well for lying countries we get pretty good damn health care….cancer, heart surgery, emergency surgery. Is it perfect…no and are there delays in emergency rooms…yes! People that go to hospitals for a broken nail and a common cold wait at the end of the line!

I would go to Shriners Hospital. Or apply for medicaid.
Your number is wrong, by the way:
-10 million or so of that number are not Americans.
-8.3 million uninsured people who make between $50,000 and $74,999 per year and 8.74 million who make more than $75,000 a year could buy insurance if they wanted to.
-45 percent of uninsured people will be uninsured for less than four months according to the Congressional Budget Office
-one prominent study places the total for the long-term uninsured as low as 8.2 million

The problem can be solved without dismantling our whole system and installing single payer. Free clinics, tort reform, allowing insurance to be bought across state lines, expand Medicaid and have low income families pay a percentage according to their income, stop spending stimulus money on ridiculous projects, don’t loan money to Brazil, don’t bail out failed companies, etc. etc.

There is medicade,there are shriner’s hospitals,ronald mcdonald houses and many other charities to help out if you care enough about your child you can do it.My children have always had excellent health care because my wife and I made sure we had excellent insurance.Sometimes one of us took out a lower paying job that had better benefits.We sometimes had to make budget cuts,drive older cars etc,. until we found something better but we worked very hard and made it work.I am all for giving tempory help to those that need it but I do not support those that wont try to do better.
