Why would a no health care crowd boo a Cancer Survivor for saying she is having problems with her insurance?
->
The town hall meeting was held in the opulent East Room of the Richard Nixon Library in Yorba Linda.
The more than 500 participants at the event, who judging from the questioners were largely from the southern part of the district around Mission Viejo.
A 60-ish woman who had had cancer in the 90s, has been cancer-free for many years, and now could not get a policy due to her pre-existing condition. This is a reality for many who are insured.
Are these people horrid or what?
And the boo-ers are covered with expensive programs.
Could they be stooges? It’s the only explanation

This woman is exactly why we need real health care reform.
And anyone who treats her as a representative of some marginal group has no grasp of the issues.

Southern,
Mostly Christian based,
Full of misinformation and thus ensuing hate
No conscience
Horrid
Reprehensible
The worst of our country
Outdated
Racially charged
Selfish
Older in general
Out of power
Have no real authority except to scream
50 years ago this same type of crowd killed MLK and Kennedy and the hate lives on.

In short, because they don’t give a fuck about anyone else. Her situation is a contradiction of their myopic worldview so they reject it.

Conservatives are scum. Thankfully, it looks like the Democrats will ram through a bill with a public option after the recess.

One thing this clearly shows is there is a major lack of respect in this country for other people. We have lost all our compassion and anger is everywhere. If we ever have some serious economic hard times we will tear each other apart.

The USA is a lynch mob…kill the rich and eat the poor.
Why are the homeless murdered by ecstasy using teens ? or
girls kept as sex slaves by USA freaks? Women eating the brains of their infants???
The rapture is coming and all will be judged in the fallen nation of Satan in the USA.

Because they are getting their information from fear and profit-based Republican propaganda, and they obviously don’t have empathy. The answer to your second question is yes, those people are horrid.
Richard L January 11th
Agreed. How rude, and I’m not for this bill!
Why we are yelling at each other like fools is beyond me. We have to good sides on a tough issue and all we can do is belittle the other side. Sickening.
I like political activism but there’s no reason for this rudeness. Just look at Yahoo Answers both sides are just plain mean lately.
It makes me so sad.

are you around here ??
the opposition flat denies there is a problem. IN THEIR MINDS.. IT DOES NOT EXIST. "all poor persons qualify for help" False. "oh, people have enough money, they just want to spend it on other stuff" False.
I’d go on.. but the gist of it is that it is incomprehensible HOW MANY "arguments" they come up with, to refute the realities.
Everything (according to some persons) is a huge conspiracy by the liberals to control the country and take their freedoms. Anyone disproving their mentality.. thus becomes evil and to be ridiculed.
I’ll respect an HONEST "I AM AFRAID OF THE COST". That is something I can respect.
The lies from the right on this (and other issues) have become nauseating.

Send us the entire clip and then we can comment on the actual event. I couldn’t even really hear her talking for one. If she was booed for merely saying something about not being able to get insurance, the participants who booed her were disrespectful. But again–not hearing the whole thing. Either way…I simply don’t care. Why???
Because I am tired of the short clips posted on YouTube for the sole purpose of siliencing opposition. What you need to care about is what is in the bill. And I assure you—they are NOT trying to reform insurance. If they were, they would have the laws and regulations that strangled our system to begin with removed. Instead, they propose MORE OF IT and complete control over your decisions. If you support it, great. Tell us why. But a clip trying to frame up the other side (which by the way–the "other side" includes all parties on this issue and if you believe otherwise, try not to bleat when you speak) does nothing to back up your argument. (as if there was one here)
Have a wonderful night.

Why does it matter if she had cancer? Seriously. Because someone had an illness they should be treated differently from you or me if they stand up and take a political position?
That’s absurd. Please tell me you’d at least be consistent and have outrage if someone spoke out in favor of war in Afghanistan because they lost a daughter in 9/11 and got booed by an anti-war protester…
Tom January 11th
While I could not fully understand what the woman was saying, it sounded more like an assault on insurance company CEOs than a complaint about her own issue. I heard her complain about how CEOs are just in it for the money and such (paraphrasing of course), but little about anything else.
As for those who booed her… they were being rude, but because the Democrats in Congress and the Democrat in the White House believe that they can just ram this through without consent of more than half of the country… well people are frustrated and are taking it out on anyone who appears to be a proponent of the lovely public option.
Revtim January 11th
Because when you boo someone who didn’t survive cancer, they can’t hear you.
In all seriousness, the other answerers got it. The Republicans/conservatives are simply either vastly ignorant and tools of their greedy masters, or completely lacking in any human empathy.
History will show these people to be the idiot scum they are.
